Leadership Opportunities

Lead where your experience can make a difference.

Every member can find a home within a WBCSD Community; a strategic peer group for exploring shared needs, challenges and opportunities. Members ready to take a more active role can help set agendas, shape priorities and strengthen the Community work through three leadership opportunities.

Make a meaningful difference. Choose the role that best matches your expertise, ambition and capacity to contribute.

Community Co-chair

Co-chair a Community and work with fellow members to curate its strategic agenda and discussion content. This opportunity is intended for senior leaders, including Council Members, Liaison Delegates or equivalent executives.

Action Theme Advisory Group representative

Senior leaders from Community groups will be selected to represent a Community in the Advisory Group for an Action Theme. This brings member priorities into the transparent prioritization, shaping and recommendation of deliverables. Advisory Groups will be established in the first part of the year to guide the work but do not carry governance authority.

Champion

Leading members who want to provide further support will be recognized through Champion participation. When members are interested and able to provide significant additional resource support, either substantial in-kind or financial to help accelerate planned Deliverables beyond the base fee support, they will be recognized as Champions with specific benefits. These include participation in the Action Theme Advisory Group, external visibility, and more.

Action Themes will use an RFP process, typically in October–November for indications of where significant support will be most valued.

All other in-kind support remains welcome.

Why lead?

A leadership role gives members a stronger voice in the priorities and deliverables that shape WBCSD’s work. It also creates closer connections with peers, brings business experience directly into the work, and helps ensure that collective action addresses the challenges and opportunities that matter most.
