What Makes
WBCSD Unique

Why WBCSD
Built on more than 30 years of trusted convening, WBCSD brings together some of the world’s leading companies to turn sustainability into business value. Our strength lies not only in our history, but in our people: experienced practitioners, policy experts, industry specialists and member engagement teams who work alongside companies every day to solve real business challenges. By combining deep expertise, cross-value-chain collaboration and a proven track record of developing practical tools, standards and solutions, WBCSD is uniquely positioned to help members move from ambition to implementation and deliver measurable results.

How we stay ahead, so you can too
WBCSD has evolved to meet the changing needs of business. Seven interconnected Action Themes now replace a portfolio of separate projects, creating a clearer path from insight to action and impact. Together, they help companies scale proven solutions, respond to emerging challenges, embed sustainability into core business decisions, and capture value in the marketplace. One membership fee provides access across the entire agenda, with no projects to choose between and no additional program fees. The Academy is available to every employee. Most importantly, members do not simply participate in the work, they help shape it through Community leadership, Action Theme engagement, and direct influence on priorities and outcomes. This shifts WBCSD from a set of separate projects to one connected platform, shaped by members and focused on results.

What will remain the same
Members were clear about what they value most and what must not be lost. The unique cross-sector convening that brings together peers, customers, suppliers and partners in ways few organizations can. The Communities that provide trusted networks and lasting connections. The events that put the right people in the room at the right moment. Trusted expertise on standards, disclosure and reporting, with direct insight into the developments shaping the business landscape. And the confidential benchmarking that helps companies understand where they stand and where they can improve. These strengths remain at the heart of WBCSD, and all are included as part of membership.

What makes the 2027 Action Platform unique
Few organizations combine the convening power, business credibility and practical expertise needed to turn sustainability into business value. WBCSD brings together cross-sector peers, standard setters, policymakers, investors and practitioners to help companies shape change and deliver results. In 2027, that comes as one integrated platform and one membership fee: seven focused Action Themes with clear deliverables, trusted policy and insights capabilities, company-wide access to the Academy, and member-led Communities that drive priorities and action. Companies can engage where it matters most to them, whether shaping future standards, piloting solutions, building internal capabilities, or scaling implementation across their business.
WBCSD is the platform where the world's leading companies come together to take on the sustainability challenges no one can solve alone, driving resilience, competitiveness and growth.
